A young Pakistani guy by the name of Asif Tariq made the First Pakistani Airplane "AL-MUNIR." The Registration Number of the aircraft is AP-BCU, and the serial number is 595. Asif made all the parts 100% in Pakistan. His workshop was on the rooftop of his house in Malir. For the engine, he bought a jeep's engine from Shair Shah (Karachi) and converted it to an aircraft's engine.
The proving flight was made and the Aircraft Al-Munir flew excellently. Asif Tariq wanted to Mass Produce the aircraft, but due to the "un-capitalist" nature of Pakistani economy, he wasn't able to find venture capitalists that would invest the money.
Today, Asif Tariq either resides in Lahore or the Far East. If you feel like to help him in starting Light-Aircraft Manufacturing Industry in Pakistan, then please contact Mr. Barom Buns
